Client: Society of Women Engineers-Detroit Chapter
Industry: Non profit engineering association
Project: 50th Anniversary
Needs
- Take advantage of the anniversary by enhancing the organization’s presence to “outsiders” -- the community and prospective members.
- The organization is non-profit, so a limited budget was available.
Solutions
- The Anniversary Company researched and recommended a variety of budget-conscious anniversary initiatives. In order to extend the anniversary life, The Anniversary Company recommended a legacy project that would be visible to “outsiders” for many years to come.
Results
- The Anniversary Company researched and recommended anniversary logos, working with graphic artists to provide several renderings.
- The Anniversary Company researched and recommended advertising opportunities in external publications.
- The Anniversary Company conducted historical research and helped create an historical display and a membership special event at which the display debuted.
- The client reviewed our legacy project suggestions and chose the option to commission public artwork. The Anniversary Company researched, interviewed, and commissioned two artists (one local; the other a national talent) to create a mobile. The use of kinetic art was a natural fit with this engineering organization. The mobile was hung in the 4-story atrium of the convention center in the organization’s home city. Since engineers from all over the world convene regularly at this facility, it was a perfect fit. The general public also enjoyed the piece, which serves as a long-lasting testament to the organization’s role in the community.
